Bank Islam has reminded the public to remain vigilant against fraudulent links and social media accounts that misuse the bank’s brand and images for deceptive purposes.
The warning comes amid growing concerns over scams that attempt to impersonate legitimate banking institutions to obtain sensitive customer information. Bank Islam’s Group Chief Operating Officer, Mohamed Iran Moriff Mohd Shariff, has emphasised that all campaigns organised by the bank are only promoted through its official channels.
“Bank Islam always prioritises data security and customer interests. We will never request personal or sensitive information such as account numbers, passwords, or OTP codes through websites or social media accounts for any campaign. All campaign promotions are conducted exclusively through Bank Islam’s official platforms,” he said in a statement.
He urged the public to remain cautious and not fall prey to fraudulent tactics used by irresponsible parties. Verifying the authenticity of information before taking any action is essential to avoid falling victim to scams.

Bank Islam reiterated that all official information related to its campaigns, promotions, and banking products will only be communicated through its verified channels. These include its official website and social media accounts on Facebook (Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad), Instagram (bankislam), X (myBankIslam), and LinkedIn (Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad).
To safeguard themselves from fraud, customers are advised to adopt precautionary measures such as being wary of clickable links, always logging in via the official Bank Islam website, and inspecting website links carefully before engaging in any banking activities. Additionally, they should verify their security image and phrase before entering their password and never share personal information, including passwords or OTP codes, with anyone, even if they claim to represent the bank.
Members of the public who encounter suspicious activities involving the misuse of Bank Islam’s brand are encouraged to report them immediately to the Bank Islam Contact Centre at 03-26 900 900 or via email at [email protected].
