CIMB Bank has launched CIMB OctoTravel, which is said to be Malaysia’s first bank-linked travel site and mobile app. Rolled out in collaboration with travel management company, Corporate Information Travel (CIT), it offers attractive deals that are specially curated for CIMB credit, debit, and prepaid card customers – catering to their travel needs in a single platform.

According to the bank, CIMB cardholders will be able to tap into competitive flight and hotel fares for both domestic and international travel when they purchase tickets on OctoTravel. There are also tour packages and travel vouchers that you can check out as well. If you book using CIMB credit cards, you may even convert your travel expenses into instalment payments, via zero-interest instalment plans of up to twelve months (minimum spend RM300).

Additionally, you will be provided with complimentary travel insurance and Covid-19 coverage, protecting you from unfortunate situations including missed flights and lost baggage. Other benefits that are also available on OctoTravel include live support from digital travel consultants and the ability to conveniently convert your CIMB Bonus Points for your travels.

“The launch of OctoTravel is timely as many Malaysians are eager to explore and restart travel activities given the recent easing of travel restrictions within the country and abroad. We are excited to be the first bank in Malaysia to offer customers the convenience of a one-stop travel site paired with attractive travel deals that comes with a range of value-added benefits such as Covid-19 insurance coverage to ensure our customers can travel with confidence,” said the chief executive officer of group consumer banking for CIMB, Samir Gupta.

Samir also stressed that OctoTravel is a testament to the bank’s commitment in providing innovative solutions to meet the needs of its customers’ ever-changing lifestyle. This is also to complement conventional financial offerings that are already available.

In conjunction with the launch of OctoTravel, CIMB has made various exclusive deals available on the platform, including 10% discount on international flights and 3-day-2-night hotel stay packages. There is also a promo where customers can earn 50% cashback on all purchases for flights, hotels, and tour bookings (capped at RM100 per month for each cardholder).

If you prefer to check out OctoTravel via its app instead of the website, you can download the app for free on Google Play or the App Store.
