Maybank Supports Mercy Malaysia's Covid-19 Fund, Encourages Malaysians To Donate

Maybank has teamed up with Mercy Malaysia to invite the public to contribute to the Mercy Covid-19 Pandemic Fund. Mercy Malaysia’s fund, which was launched on 18 March 2020, is meant to aid the country’s healthcare system in its ongoing battle against the pandemic, as well as to support the essential needs of marginalised groups.

The donations will be channeled specifically for critical preparedness, readiness, and response support actions for the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC). These include acquiring personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline health workers, providing assistance at critical community points that have low or no access to health screening facilities, as well as establishing mental health and psychosocial support services via a hotline platform.

“This campaign aims to help our frontline heroes of health workers in fighting Covid-19 as well as ensure our healthcare system has the needed supplies, logistics, and operations are received on time and distributed to identified facilities and institutions,” said Maybank in its campaign page.

Maybank had also separately donated RM4 million to Mercy Malaysia’s fund, and a subsequent RM2.5 million via another collaborative effort by the Association of Banks Malaysia (ABM).

Malaysians who donate to the fund will also be entitled to tax exemptions. To get your tax-exemption receipt, you can either log in and donate at Maybank’s campaign page, or email your transaction receipt to Maybankheart@maybank.com.
