RHB has rolled out its #JomSapot campaign in a bid to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) promote their products and services to consumers. Ongoing from now until 30 November 2020, the campaign is held in conjunction with Malaysia Day, and is aimed at accelerating local business growth as well as providing consumers with incentives to buy from Malaysian SMEs.

According to RHB, its #JomSapot campaign achieves its objectives by turning online traffic into actual purchases via a pledge system. Merchants who sign up for the campaign will be listed on RHB’s #JomSapot online platform, where they can showcase some of their current promotions. Meanwhile, individuals can declare their support for selected businesses listed in the platform by making a public “pledge” on their social media, and subsequently, by purchasing from the businesses.

Beyond that, the campaign also sees RHB encouraging its customers to buy from local businesses by giving them a chance to win up to RM650 cashback for such expenses. This includes three monthly RM50 cashback rewards from September to November, and a final grand prize of RM500 cashback. To qualify, your purchases must be made with an RHB credit/debit card or via the RHB DuitNow QR. Depending on the merchants that you buy from (participating/non participating) and other steps that you take, you can earn a number of entries to win the cashback prizes.

The group managing director of RHB, Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli said that the #JomSapot initiative enables the bank to market the businesses’ products directly to consumers and to encourage positive buying behaviour. “As we make our pledges, share our pledges on social media and make our purchases at the outlets, we are demonstrating a strong sense of unity and solidarity while ensuring the continued success of our local businesses,” he said.

Meanwhile, the group chief marketing officer of RHB, Abdul Sani Abdul Murad emphasised that the #JomSapot initiative is not just a marketing platform for local businesses. “It includes promotions and marketing support capabilities which RHB will invest to help create awareness for these businesses and to encourage Malaysians to shop with them,” he said, adding that the cashback rewards for RHB customers will also give them added value on their purchases.
