UOB Updates UNIRinggit Terms And Adds Cashback Redemption
Author Avatar

UOB Malaysia has updated the Terms and Conditions of its UNIRinggit Rewards Programme, with changes that affect how cardmembers earn, use, and track their rewards.

The updates apply to eligible UOB Malaysia credit cardholders and include clearer eligibility rules, a more defined rewards catalogue, a standardised expiry timeline, and a new cashback redemption option.

Clearer Eligibility For UNIRinggit Rewards

The updated terms clarify that only Principal UOB Malaysia Credit Cardmembers with valid and active accounts are eligible to earn and redeem UNIRinggit.

Accounts that are invalid, suspended, cancelled, or delinquent are excluded from the programme, based on UOB Malaysia’s assessment. The clarification also confirms that UNIRinggit applies across various UOB Malaysia credit card types, including personal, private label, corporate, and commercial cards, where applicable.

More Clarity On How UNIRinggit Can Be Used

The rewards catalogue has been clarified to give cardmembers a clearer view of what UNIRinggit can be redeemed for.

UNIRinggit can be used to redeem goods, services, air miles, annual fees, sales and service tax, and cashback, depending on availability. Redemptions are available through UOB Malaysia’s official platforms, including UOB TMRW and UOB-operated websites.

A Clearer Expiry Timeline For Rewards

UNIRinggit earned by cardmembers will expire on the last day of the quarter, three years from the date it is earned. The expiry timeline is now defined consistently, with examples included in the terms to show how expiry dates are calculated.

This makes it easier for cardmembers to track their rewards and plan redemptions in advance.

Cashback Redemption Added As A New Option

Cashback has been introduced as a formal redemption option under the UNIRinggit Rewards Programme.

Principal Cardmembers can redeem UNIRinggit for cashback, which will be credited directly into their credit card account. While this adds flexibility in how rewards can be used, the credited amount will not automatically settle the Minimum Payment Due. Cardmembers must continue to make minimum payments in line with the UOB Malaysia Cardmember Agreement.

What Cardmembers Should Take Note Of

These updates provide clearer definitions, greater transparency around reward usage, and an additional redemption option.

Cardmembers are encouraged to review the updated Terms and Conditions [PDF] to understand how the changes may affect their rewards and payment responsibilities.
