Special Income Tax Relief For Lifestyle Expenses To Be Extended To December 2022

During the tabling of Budget 2022, the government has proposed to extend the special tax relief of RM2,500 for the purchases of phones, computers, and tablets (lifestyle expenses) to 31 December 2022.
This special tax relief was originally introduced under the PENJANA economic recovery plan as a way to boost work-from-home arrangements as Malaysia was forced into extensive movement control order (MCO) periods, and was supposed to last between June to December 2020. It was subsequently extended to 31 December 2021 under the Permai stimulus package.
The special tax relief is provided on top of the existing tax relief for lifestyle purchases, where taxpayers are allowed to claim up to RM2,500. These expenses include expenditure on personal electronic devices, sports equipment, reading materials, as well as Internet bills.

Hi, I bought a tablet for RM3.5K. I have maxed out 2.5K claimed under Lifestyle expenses. Can I claim the remaining 1K under additional Lifestyle expenses?
