Alliance Bank Adjusts Bonus Points Policy, Expiring From 2028
Author Avatar

Alliance Bank has announced upcoming revisions to its Bonus Points and Air Miles redemption programme, which will take effect on 1 December 2025. The update introduces a new structure for managing reward points, including a three-year validity period.

Under the revised terms, Bonus Points will now be known as Three-year Bonus Points (TBP). While the name has changed, the abbreviation TBP will continue to be used in the Bank’s communications. All existing points accumulated before 1 December 2025 will remain valid until 30 November 2028, giving customers ample time to redeem their rewards.

Three-Year Validity For Bonus Points

From December 2025 onwards, points earned in each month will be valid until the end of the third year from that month. For example, TBP collected in January 2026 will expire in December 2028, while TBP earned in later months will expire three years after the month they were collected.

That means customers can continue earning and redeeming their points as usual, with a clear timeframe to plan redemptions more effectively. The adjustment is intended to provide a consistent structure for tracking and managing rewards.

Air Miles Redemption In Fixed Blocks

Alliance Bank’s Air Miles redemption remains available through Enrich and AirAsia. Redemptions will now be made in multiples of 5,000 Air Miles points, allowing for a clearer and more standardised conversion process.

Air MilesRedemption In Multiples Of 5,000 Points
Enrich75,000 TBP for 5,000 Enrich Points
AirAsia30,000 TBP for 5,000 AirAsia Points

Every 5,000 Enrich Points or AirAsia Points is treated as one unit of redemption.

To help customers manage their redemptions, Alliance Bank has introduced monthly caps. Cardholders can redeem up to 20,000 Enrich Points or 20,000 AirAsia Points per month, which is equivalent to four redemption units per month. This translates to a maximum of 300,000 TBP for Enrich and 120,000 TBP for AirAsia each month.

This system gives cardholders more control over their Air Miles conversions, whether they prefer to redeem smaller amounts regularly or save points for larger redemptions.

Redemption Options Beyond Air Miles

In addition to Air Miles, customers can redeem their TBP for goods, vouchers, or e-vouchers. For example, 60,000 points can be exchanged for RM100 Touch ‘n Go credit.

The monthly redemption cap applies only to Air Miles. Redemptions for other categories such as shopping or lifestyle vouchers remain uncapped, offering continued flexibility in how points can be used.

Planning Your Redemptions

With a three-year validity period, customers have sufficient time to plan and redeem their points in ways that best suit their needs. Some may choose to redeem smaller amounts regularly for convenience, while others may prefer to accumulate points for a larger redemption closer to 2028.

The structured timeline allows customers to better plan their usage while ensuring all accumulated points are enjoyed within the validity window.

According to the Bank, these changes are part of ongoing efforts to align its rewards programme with best practices and enhance overall clarity for customers.

Alliance Bank’s Ongoing Card Campaigns

Although these changes apply to the Bonus Points programme, Alliance Bank currently has several card usage campaigns in place for its credit cardholders.

The 0% Flexi Payment Plan Campaign allows eligible cardholders to convert larger purchases into fixed monthly instalments with no interest charges. This feature provides an alternative way to manage expenses such as travel, household, or personal items more steadily over time.

The Double Digit Online Spend Campaign provides cashback to customers who use their Alliance Bank credit cards during Malaysia’s major online sale periods, including dates such as 11.11 and 12.12. The offer applies to qualifying online transactions made within the campaign period.

The Global Foreign Spend Cashback Campaign offers cashback for eligible overseas transactions and purchases made in foreign currencies, either while travelling or through international online merchants.

These ongoing campaigns aim to provide practical spending options and added value for Alliance Bank cardholders throughout the year.
