Hong Leong Bank Offers RM30 Cashback For Apple Pay Spending
Author Avatar

Hong Leong Bank is offering RM30 in cashback to eligible cardholders who activate and use Apple Pay for everyday purchases. The limited-time promotion runs from 15 January 2026 to 25 February 2026, or until the allocated cashback pool is fully utilised.

The offer applies to spending made via Apple Pay using selected Hong Leong Bank Visa credit and debit cards issued in Malaysia. For cardholders who already rely on mobile payments for daily expenses, the promotion provides a short-term opportunity to offset regular spending.

How The RM30 Cashback Works

To receive the RM30 cashback, cardholders need to complete three Apple Pay transactions of at least RM50 each within the same promotion week. All qualifying transactions must be made using the same eligible card.

Each eligible cardholder can only receive the cashback once during the entire promotion period. Cashback is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability of the total cashback pool.

Promotion Period And Who Can Take Part

The promotion is open to both new and existing Hong Leong Bank Visa credit cardholders and Visa debit cardholders, including Malaysian and non-Malaysian individuals. Cards must be issued in Malaysia and remain active and in good standing throughout the campaign.

Cardholders with inactive or cancelled accounts, accounts not in good standing, or those involved in fraudulent or insolvency-related issues are not eligible. Winners of certain invitation-only Apple Pay promotions are also excluded, as stated in the official terms.

No registration is required, as eligible transactions are tracked automatically by the bank.

Weekly Structure Shapes Eligibility Timing

The campaign is divided into weekly cycles between mid-January and late February 2026. While the spending requirement remains the same each week, the timing of transactions matters.

Cashback is awarded based on when the qualifying criteria are met within a promotion week. This means cardholders who complete their Apple Pay spending earlier may have a higher chance of receiving the cashback, especially during weeks with higher participation.

Transactions That Count Towards Cashback

Most retail and online purchases made locally or overseas using Apple Pay are eligible. However, certain transactions are excluded, including hospital payments, funeral services, instalment plans, balance transfers, fees, taxes, refunded or reversed transactions, and split transactions at the same merchant on the same day.

Eligible transactions must be posted during the promotion period or within five days after it ends. Spending across multiple cards cannot be combined to meet the requirement.

When Cashback Will Be Credited

The RM30 cashback will be credited directly into the cardholder’s principal Hong Leong Bank card account within 60 days after the promotion ends on 25 February 2026. At the time of crediting, the card account must still be active and in good standing.

Successful cardholders will be notified via in-app notification or email after the cashback has been credited. Any issues relating to non-receipt must be reported to the bank by 31 May 2026.

How This Affects Everyday Spending Decisions

For cardholders who already use Apple Pay for groceries, dining, transport, or online shopping, the promotion offers a straightforward way to earn cashback without changing spending habits significantly.

However, because the cashback pool is limited and awarded based on availability, delaying transactions could reduce the likelihood of receiving the RM30. Planning Apple Pay usage earlier within the promotion period can help improve eligibility, particularly for those managing monthly budgets and looking to stretch everyday expenses further.

As contactless payments become more common in Malaysia, promotions like this highlight how payment method choices, timing, and awareness of terms can directly affect short-term savings.
