Alliance Enhances Visa Infinite, Privilege Visa Signature With Complimentary Premium Lounge Access
Author Avatar

Alliance Bank has announced that it is enhancing the benefits of its Alliance Bank Visa Infinite and Alliance Privilege Visa Signature credit cards with complimentary access to Plaza Premium First and Plaza Premium Lounges worldwide. These new travel perks are set to take effect starting from 1 November 2022.

According to the bank, both cards – which currently do not provide any such complimentary access – will soon offer the following benefits for its principal cardholders:

CardsComplimentary accessDetails
Alliance Bank Visa Infinite credit card2x complimentary access per calendar yearPlaza Premium Lounges worldwide
Alliance Privilege Visa Signature credit card4x complimentary access per calendar yearPlaza Premium First and Plaza Premium Lounges worldwide

To note, Plaza Premium First lounges are essentially the higher end versions of Plaza Premium Lounges. Alliance Bank also shared the full list of Plaza Premium First and Plaza Premium Lounges that are accessible to cardholders of both cards here, with clear indication of the use terms of this benefit.

In particular, those who wish to access the premium lounges are reminded that they must present their Alliance Bank credit card, passport/MyKad, and boarding passes. Additionally, all cardholders are advised to check the operating status of each lounge before visiting to avoid disappointment.

Aside from this update, Alliance Bank stated in its official website announcement that there are no other changes to the existing benefits and features of both credit cards. However, the bank’s EDM to cardholders appears to indicate otherwise; we noticed that the reward for dining category under the Alliance Bank Visa Infinite card – which currently earns you 5x TBP – has been bumped down to only 1x TBP earning. Given that banks are required to give 21 days’ notice for any form of revisions to its cards, this could either be a design error, or a hint of another upcoming revision to the card.

At present, though, the Alliance Bank Visa Infinite card allows cardholders to earn up to 8x Timeless Bonus Points (TBP) for selected transactions, including online and e-wallet transactions, groceries, and dining. Meanwhile, the Alliance Privilege Visa Signature card – which is an upgraded version of the Alliance Bank Visa Signature card – offers up to 8% cashback for selected transactions, provided they meet a minimum spend requirement of RM120,000 per year and a minimum assets under management (AUM) requirement of RM300,000.

No, it means the cardholder can access the lounge for free two times in a calendar year.
