AmBank Introduces Up To 10% Cashback On Cash Rebate Visa Platinum Card
Author Avatar

AmBank has revised its cashback offerings for the AmBank Cash Rebate Visa Platinum Credit Card, now offering up to 10% cashback across four essential spending categories.

With millennials now making up about 40% of AmBank’s credit cardholder base, data shows a strong preference for e-commerce, dining, and public transport.

Cashback That Matches Everyday Spending

Starting 1 November 2025, cardholders can earn up to 10% cashback on grocery and shopping, dining, online, and public transport spending, which includes KLIA Ekspres, LRT, and MRT rides. This marks a notable adjustment from the previous cashback structure and reflects the lifestyle of younger Malaysians who value convenience, digital payments, and sustainable commuting.

Cheong Chee Wai, Managing Director of Retail Banking at AmBank, said the changes reflect the evolving habits of Malaysian consumers. “Today’s consumers are savvy shoppers who want credit cards that provide more value for their everyday spending. With features such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and full digital access through the AmOnline app, this card offers both convenience and flexibility,” he said.

Simple Structure, Greater Rewards

The revised cashback structure makes it easier for cardholders to manage their rewards. A minimum monthly spend of RM1,500 unlocks the full 10% cashback, capped at RM10 per category. Beyond these categories, additional spending earns 0.2% unlimited cashback, allowing continued rewards on all transactions.

The AmBank Cash Rebate Visa Platinum Card is free for life, with no annual fees for both principal and supplementary cards. It also offers a 20-day interest-free period on retail transactions when payments are made in full, with standard tiered finance charges applied thereafter.

Cashback Offer For New Customers

From 1 October to 31 December 2025, new AmBank Credit Cardholders can earn up to RM388 in cashback rewards. Eligible applicants will receive RM138 cashback after completing eight retail transactions with their new principal AmBank Visa Credit Card or AmBank Visa Credit Card-i.

An additional RM200 cashback is available for the first 50 new cardholders who meet a minimum spend of RM5,000 within 60 calendar days from the approval date. New customers switching from other banks can also enjoy a 0% Balance Transfer offer, aimed at helping them consolidate payments and manage their finances more efficiently.

Digital Features For A Connected Experience

The AmBank Cash Rebate Visa Platinum Credit Card supports contactless payments and major digital wallets, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. Users can also manage their accounts and monitor spending through the AmOnline app.

Cheong added that AmBank continues to adapt its products in response to customer expectations. “We aim to provide financial solutions that are practical, accessible, and aligned with current consumer needs,” he said.
