2nd July 2025 - 2 min read

HSBC has announced that the additional 3% bonus cashback offer for HSBC Live+ Credit Card customers with a minimum monthly spend of RM5,000 ended on 30 June 2025. As of 1 July 2025, customers will continue to enjoy the standard bonus cashback rates without the extra 3%.
Updated Bonus Cashback Rates
Looking at what this means for cardholders, the bonus cashback rates for the HSBC Live+ Credit Card remain unchanged for most spending tiers. For a minimum eligible monthly spend of RM1,000, the bonus cashback stays at 1%. For spending of RM2,500, the rate continues at 2%. However, for customers spending RM5,000 and above each month, the bonus cashback has adjusted from 8% previously to 5% going forward.
It is important to note that the monthly cashback cap remains at RM150 for each spend category. These categories include dining, entertainment, and shopping, providing opportunities to earn rewards across popular spending areas.
Extensions for Recently Approved Cards
To ease the transition, HSBC has introduced a special extension for customers who received approval for their HSBC Live+ Credit Card between 1 April 2025 and 31 July 2025, inclusive of both dates. For these customers, the additional 3% bonus cashback will still apply to transactions with a minimum monthly spend of RM5,000.

The entitlement period varies based on the month the card was approved, extending up to the September 2025 statement cycle. For example, cards approved in April 2025 will receive the additional bonus cashback for transactions posted from May to September 2025. Meanwhile, cards approved in May, June, or July 2025 will enjoy the extended offer through their respective September 2025 statement cycles. Cards approved from August 2025 onwards will earn the standard 5% bonus cashback for spending of RM5,000 or more.

In line with its commitment to transparency, HSBC encourages customers to review the revised Terms and Conditions for the HSBC Live+ Credit Card Programme, which are available on the bank’s official website.
