Maybank has announced a new airport lounge access partner, Travel Club Lounge, and simultaneously added the complimentary airport lounge access quota for some of its premium and travel credit cards. These cards now get 5x complimentary access to these lounges, effective immediately until the end of this year
Currently, Maybank’s premium and travel credit cards for mass consumers offer complimentary airport lounge access operated by Plaza Premium Lounge (PPL) and its affiliates around the world (with the exception of the American Express Platinum Charge Card, which includes a frankly shocking amount of complimentary lounge access around the globe that also includes Travel Club Lounge). This newly-announced perk adds to the current quotas for each card.
Specifically, there will be five Maybank credit cards that will enjoy this new perk:

Currently, there are four Travel Club Lounge outlets that are eligible for the complimentary access:
Based on the information shared in an EDM to cardholders as well as a notice on Maybank’s website, this is an additional perk that is given on top of the existing complimentary access to PPL for the eligible cards. This means that for some cards, namely the Maybank Visa Infinite and Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Amex Platinum cards, their complimentary airport lounge access quota has effectively been doubled from 5x to 10x (for this year at least). And it’s even better for the Amex Platinum credit card and the KrisFlyer Amex Gold credit card, both of which do not have complimentary airport lounge access perks – they now gets 5x complimentary access (for this year at least)!
Given that airport lounge access agreements are renewed each year, it cannot yet be confirmed if this perk will be available in 2025 and beyond – we will only find out when Maybank updates each of the above cards’ PDS for 2025. If it does, it will make Maybank’s premium cards that little bit more competitive, given how other travel credit cards from other banks in recent years have upped their game with higher lounge access quotas and other travel-related perks like complimentary airport rides and in-flight WiFi.
