Public Bank is rolling out a series of updates to its credit card rewards across April and May 2026. If you carry a PB Visa Infinite or PB World Mastercard, the changes affect how often you can use airport lounges, how much you earn on overseas spending, and how your Air Miles convert into Enrich and AirAsia points.
PB Visa Infinite and PB World Mastercard holders will get 5 complimentary global accesses to participating Plaza Premium Lounges and their designated dining outlets per calendar year, up from 3 today.
The spending requirement to qualify for each visit stays the same, which is a minimum of RM1,000 in cumulative retail transactions within 30 calendar days before or after each access.
Two extra lounge visits a year is a noticeable improvement if you take three or more international trips, and the dining outlet option means you can use the benefit for a proper sit-down meal at participating restaurants rather than only the lounge buffet.
A few outlets are being removed from the participating list at the same time. Plaza Premium Lounge at Gateway@klia2, Flight Club Grab ‘n’ Go at Gateway@klia2, and Plaza Premium Lounge at the Domestic Departures area of Penang International Airport will no longer be available to Public Bank cardmembers from 1 April. The full updated list of participating lounges and airports is available through Public Bank’s lounge programme page, and it is worth checking before you plan your next trip if you usually rely on a specific airport.
The RM80 monthly Cash MegaBonus cap on the PB Visa Infinite is being removed entirely from 1 May 2026. In its place, the card will offer unlimited 1% Cash MegaBonus on overseas retail spend and unlimited 0.3% on local retail spend, with no ceiling on what you can earn back in a single statement cycle.
The removal of the cap opens up the card for higher-value use cases, particularly business spending. If you charge supplier payments, overseas vendor invoices, work travel, or large procurement to your PB Visa Infinite, the cashback now scales with what you actually spend. RM20,000 in overseas business expenses in a single cycle will earn you RM200 back. RM50,000 will earn RM500. For anyone running a small business or managing company expenses on a personal card, that is a more practical way for the rewards to work.
The trade-off for unlocking the cap is a lower headline rate on overseas spend, which moves from 2% to 1%. For cardholders whose monthly overseas spending sits below roughly RM8,000, the previous capped structure paid out more. For anyone consistently spending above that level, the uncapped structure will pay out more from May onwards.
The PB World Mastercard moves the other way. The Air Miles earn rate on overseas retail transactions rises from 3x to 5x points per RM1 spent. The local earn rate stays at 1x point per RM1.
On RM5,000 of overseas spend, you will earn 25,000 Air Miles points from May, up from 15,000 today.
From the same date, the conversion rate for redeeming Air Miles through the PB Preferred Redemption e-Catalogue is being updated across most Public Bank credit cards, including the PB World Mastercard, PB Visa Signature, PB Platinum Mastercard, PB Quantum Visa, PB Quantum Mastercard, PB RCB Gold, and PB RCB Elite.
Under the new structure, 12,500 points convert into 1,000 Enrich Points or 2,000 AirAsia Points. The AirAsia ratio gives you twice as many partner points per conversion, so if you fly with both airlines, the maths favours collecting through AirAsia.
For PB World Mastercard holders, the higher overseas earn rate means you will be reaching the 12,500-point threshold faster than you do today.
If your year includes a few international trips, build the extra lounge visits from 1 April into your planning, especially since the dining outlet option works well for longer layovers. For PB Visa Infinite customers, take a fresh look at how you use the card once the uncapped structure kicks in on 1 May. On the PB World Mastercard side, the higher overseas earn rate is the main thing to plan around for your next trip.
