UOB Introduces New Utility Cashback Tier, Free Lounge Access For Commercial Charge Card
Author Avatar

UOB Malaysia will be introducing revised cashback rates and new travel perks for its Commercial Charge Card, effective 1 September 2025. The bank says these changes are designed to provide greater value and flexibility for businesses that use the card for operational and travel-related spending.

Updated Cashback Rates for Utility and Non-Utility Spend

From September, a new 0.5% cashback rate will apply to monthly utility spend of RM500,000 or more. The existing 0.2% cashback rate for utility spend below RM500,000 will remain in place.

For non-utility transactions, the cashback rate is unchanged at 0.75%, regardless of the total monthly spend.

Spend CategoryMonthly Spend ThresholdCashback Rate
Utility Spend (NEW)≥ RM500,0000.5%
Utility Spend< RM500,0000.2%
Non-Utility SpendAny amount0.75%

This structure allows businesses to maximise cashback by aligning high-value utility payments with the higher rebate tier, while still earning on all other eligible business expenses.

Complimentary Airport Lounge Access with No Spend Condition

In addition to the cashback revisions, UOB will introduce complimentary travel benefits. From September, each cardmember will be entitled to three airport lounge visits per year, with no minimum spend requirement to qualify.

This change removes the need for cardmembers to meet spending conditions before accessing lounge facilities, offering immediate convenience for business travellers.

Designed to Support Business Spending and Travel Needs

According to UOB, these enhancements aim to reward business spending more effectively while adding travel convenience. By revising utility cashback tiers and introducing lounge access without spend conditions, the bank is targeting both operational expenses and the travel requirements of its commercial card customers.

Cardmembers can review the full updated terms and conditions through UOB Malaysia’s official channels to understand eligibility and applicable rules for these benefits.
