Visa Cardholders Get FIFA World Cup 26 Ticket Early Access
Author Avatar

Visa cardholders will be given early access to apply for tickets to the FIFA World Cup 26™ through the Visa Presale Draw. The presale window runs from 10 to 19 September 2025, ahead of general ticket sales.

How the Visa Presale Draw Works

To take part, Malaysian fans need a Visa Credit, Visa Debit, or reloadable Visa prepaid card, along with a FIFA ID. Applications must be submitted through FIFA’s website during the presale period. Selection is randomised, and successful applicants will be notified by email starting from 30 September 2025. Those selected will receive a specific time slot in October to purchase tickets, which will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Visa will be the only payment method accepted during this presale period.

Football’s Role in Malaysia

Football is the most popular sport in Malaysia and continues to attract strong interest. In 2023, the Malaysia Super League recorded nearly one million spectators, averaging more than 5,000 fans per match. The government also supports the sport through the National Football Development Programme, which has been allocated RM30 million to develop grassroots talent and strengthen long-term growth of football in the country.

Business and Community Impact

Alongside ticket access for fans, Visa has stated that it will support small businesses in host cities across North America in preparing for the tournament. Initiatives will focus on helping local merchants, such as shops and food vendors, benefit from the expected increase in visitors. Further details on these programmes are expected closer to the start of the tournament.

A Record-Breaking Tournament Ahead

The FIFA World Cup 26™ will be the largest edition of the tournament to date, featuring 48 teams and 104 matches across 39 days. Sixteen cities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States will host games, making it the first World Cup staged across three countries. Visa, which has been a FIFA partner for almost 20 years, will continue its role as the official payment provider for the event.
