Lazada, Shopee Customers Can Still Apply For RM200 Vouchers Via SAVE 2.0

E-commerce platforms Lazada and Shopee both appear to have re-enabled their campaign pages for the SAVE 2.0 programme – an initiative spearheaded by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) to increase public awareness and energy-efficient products in the market.

First introduced during the tabling of Budget 2021, the SAVE 2.0 programme officially took off in January 2021. It allows eligible Malaysians to claim RM200 vouchers to use when purchasing energy-efficient air conditioners and fridges with participating retail or e-commerce partners, including Lazada and Shopee. Offered on a first-come first-served basis, there were only limited quantities of the vouchers that could be claimed.

Subsequently, in April 2021, SEDA announced that it intends to extend the SAVE 2.0 offer to cover more electrical appliances, beyond just air conditioners and refrigerators. Among some of the appliances that may be included are washing machines and televisions.

While this has not been confirmed, SEDA seemed to have considered a relaunch of the SAVE 2.0 programme, as can be inferred from this statement in Lazada’s FAQ for the initiative:

A quick check on our part also showed that Lazada has once again opened up the registration form for the programme. Meanwhile, Shopee’s SAVE 2.0 campaign page also shows an updated application process since its launch in January. Where you were previously required to fill in an application form in the Shopee app, you now have to look out for products with the “SAVE 2.0” tag, and then message the merchant selling the product. The merchant will then help you to apply for the voucher, and then share it with you once the application is approved.

When contacted via social media, both Lazada and Shopee customer service representatives have also confirmed that they are currently accepting applications for the SAVE 2.0 programme. If you missed out on the earlier round of application for the programme back in January 2021, this is another chance for you to tap into the offer! For more information regarding the SAVE 2.0 programme on Lazada and Shopee, you can head on over to their websites. Alternatively, you can also check out SEDA’s website for more information.
