Muslim Pro Now Lets Malaysians Pay For Umrah In Monthly Instalments
Author Avatar

If you’re planning to perform Umrah, the Muslim Pro app now offers access to Shariah-compliant Umrah financing, allowing eligible users to spread the cost of their pilgrimage through monthly instalments. The app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play

Performing Umrah can cost several thousand ringgit, making it one of the biggest travel expenses for which many Muslim families plan. Paying in instalments gives travellers another way to manage the expense instead of paying everything upfront.

The feature is offered through a partnership between Muslim Pro and Bettr, Ant International’s embedded finance platform. You can browse participating Umrah packages in the app, complete your financing application digitally, and choose a repayment period of either 12 or 24 months, subject to eligibility.

Pay For Your Umrah Trip Over Time

The financing covers both standard and premium Umrah packages for individuals and families, including flights, accommodation, meals and ground transportation. Early settlement is available under the financing terms. Muslim Pro and Bettr have not published the financing profit rate or other pricing details.

The companies said the financing is designed for individuals and families who prefer to spread the cost of Umrah over time rather than pay for it altogether. Bettr said its credit assessment model also extends financing eligibility beyond traditional salaried workers to include gig workers and small business owners.

Uses A Shariah-Compliant Financing Structure

The financing uses a Tawarruq (Commodity Murabahah) structure, a common Islamic financing arrangement that complies with Shariah principles.

The underlying commodity transactions are processed through AS-SIDQ, Sedania As Salam Capital’s digital commodity trading platform, while the financing structure has been endorsed by Islamic finance consultancy Masryef Advisory.
