The government has named the first AI tools available under its AI for the People programme, giving eligible participants access to IlmuChat, Wonderclip, MuleRun and Gemini Enterprise.
If you want the free AI access, you’ll first need to complete and pass six courses on Rakyat Digital.
The courses cover AI Nation 2030: The MADANI Approach, CyberSAFE for the People, Generative AI, AI Security, Agentic AI for All and Cloud for the People. This is up from five courses when the programme was first announced in July. Once you’ve completed and passed all six, you can qualify for three months of access to selected AI applications and software.
The first batch includes four AI tools from three technology companies. YTL AI Labs is providing IlmuChat, while Alibaba is providing Wonderclip and MuleRun. Google is providing Gemini Enterprise. More AI software and tools are expected to be added in phases.
The free three months shouldn’t be taken to mean unlimited access to every feature, as the exact access provided for each tool may depend on how the subscriptions are offered under the programme.
If you’re aged 18 to 30 and eligible for the programme, you can register through the Rakyat Digital portal and start the required modules.
The AI for the People programme is part of the government’s wider effort to improve AI literacy and give young people more exposure to artificial intelligence and other digital technologies.
