Disney+ Confirms New Subscription Prices Starting 18 December

Disney+ has announced that it will revise its subscription fees for Malaysian users, with new prices taking effect from 18 December. The update affects both the Basic and Premium monthly plans, along with the Premium quarterly plan. The yearly plans for both tiers remain unchanged.

Price Changes For Monthly Plans

The Basic monthly plan will increase from RM24.90 to RM29.90. This plan supports one 1080p stream at a time and allows up to three devices to remain logged in. The Premium monthly plan will rise from RM39.90 to RM49.90. Premium subscribers can stream in 4K and log in on up to ten devices, with three concurrent streams permitted.

These adjustments mark a new pricing structure for customers who prefer the flexibility of month-to-month billing.

Updated Price For The Premium Quarterly Plan

The Premium quarterly plan will also see a revised fee. The new price will be RM99.90 for a three-month period, compared to the current RM79.90. Disney+ does not offer a Basic quarterly plan. Existing quarterly subscribers will move to the new pricing in their next billing cycle after the revision takes effect.

Yearly Plans Remain Unchanged

Disney+ confirmed that the annual plans will not be adjusted at this time. The Basic yearly plan remains at RM214.90, while the Premium yearly plan stays at RM289.90. These unchanged annual prices may appeal to subscribers who prefer one-off payments and long-term cost certainty.

Possible Additional Charges On Subscriber Bills

According to the information provided on the Disney+ help page, customers may see charges above the listed subscription fee depending on their payment method. These additional costs can include foreign transaction fees, bank charges, third-party Internet access fees and taxes. These amounts are not part of the Disney+ subscription price and may vary based on the customer’s financial institution or service provider.

What The Update Means For Subscribers

The revised pricing structure gives subscribers a chance to reassess their preferred plan based on video quality, the number of devices used and overall value. Customers may find the unchanged yearly plans more suitable if they prefer predictable, once-a-year billing. Others may continue with monthly or quarterly options depending on flexibility and household needs. The new pricing provides clarity for subscribers as they plan their entertainment budgets going forward.
