Govt Announces RON95 Subsidy Reimbursement For Companies Awaiting Fleet Cards
Author Avatar

The government has introduced a temporary cash reimbursement facility for public and goods transport companies that are part of the new targeted fuel subsidy programme. This measure will assist businesses that have applied for, but have not yet received, their fleet cards under the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS).

The announcement comes as the government also provides an update on the Budi MADANI initiative, a separate subsidy programme for individual citizens, which has seen a strong and successful launch.

Reimbursement For Transport Companies In Transition

According to the Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, eligible transport companies can claim the price difference between the retail price they pay for RON95 petrol and the subsidised price of RM2.05 per litre.

The facility is designed to support companies during the transition period. To be eligible for the cash reimbursement, companies must have registered under the SKPS and applied for a fleet card on or before 30 October 2025. This condition ensures that only businesses actively participating in the new subsidy system can benefit.

Claim Submission And Payment Details

The reimbursement is applicable for RON95 petrol purchases made from 30 September to 31 October, or until the date the company receives its fleet card, whichever event occurs first.

Companies must submit their claims through the SKPS online portal. All claims need to be supported by receipts as proof of purchase, which must be uploaded to the system. Once the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living verifies the claim, the Ministry of Finance will credit the reimbursement to the company’s bank account within 15 working days. The ministry has urged all eligible companies to register for the SKPS promptly to access these benefits.

Update On The Budi MADANI Initiative For Individuals

In related news, the Budi MADANI RON95 (Budi95) initiative for individuals has been successfully implemented, with RM3.7 million worth of subsidised petrol purchased shortly after its launch.

Finance Minister II Datuk Amir Hamzah Azizan reported that this amount was purchased by the initial groups of recipients, which include members of the Malaysian Armed Forces, Royal Malaysia Police, and recipients of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR). The initiative is scheduled for full implementation on 30 September, when it will be extended to all eligible Malaysians.
