The government will hold a dedicated Jualan Ihsan Rahmah online sale on 9 September, timed around Malaysia Day celebrations, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said. He was speaking at the TikTok Shop Summit Malaysia 2026, where he called for the sale to be widely promoted so more Malaysians can benefit from the discounts on offer.
This builds on an existing online partnership between TikTok Shop and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), launched in June. Participating retailers include HeroMarket and KedaiFGV, and purchases are made directly through the TikTok Shop app.
TikTok Shop is investing RM180 million into the partnership, covering discount vouchers for shoppers, seller fee waivers and shipping rebates. Some shoppers have reported that discounts apply specifically through TikTok Pay at checkout during livestream sales, though this hasn’t been officially confirmed by KPDN or TikTok Shop for the 9 September event.
The programme offers discounts of between 10% and 30% on essential goods, covering around 75 selected items including rice, sugar, flour and frozen seafood.
If you’ve been holding off on stocking up on pantry staples, this could be a good time to do it. The TikTok Pay discount may also be used together with other 9.9 sale promotions. This means you could save more than the usual 10% to 30% discount.
With the 9.9 sale being a big shopping event, always remember to check deals through the official TikTok Shop app or KPDN’s official channels to make sure you’re getting the right offers.
