Malaysia Airlines’ Enrich and PETRONAS Mesra Rewards now allow members to convert loyalty points between both programmes. This collaboration offers more flexibility for travellers and everyday consumers who want to maximise the value of their points. The exchange programme is available until 11 September 2027, giving members ample time to decide when and how to convert.
To participate, members must hold active accounts in both Enrich and PETRONAS Mesra Rewards. Both accounts must be registered under the same individual’s name. Transfers between different people, including family members, are not permitted.
If you have previously shared or pooled points with others, each person will need to manage their own conversions separately under this programme.
To begin, log in to the Enrich Online Portal and navigate to the Profile section. Here, you can link your PETRONAS Mesra Rewards card to your Enrich account. This verification step ensures both accounts belong to the same person before any exchange request is processed.
Before initiating a conversion, check your points balance in both programmes. You must have sufficient points to meet the full conversion requirement, as partial exchanges are not allowed. Top-ups with cash or credit cards are also not accepted.
The conversion rates differ depending on the direction of exchange.
When converting Enrich Points to Mesra Points, members will receive 0.8 Mesra Points for every Enrich Point. The smallest available exchange starts at 1,600 Enrich Points for 1,280 Mesra Points, increasing in fixed denominations up to 7,600 Enrich Points for 6,400 Mesra Points.
When converting Mesra Points to Enrich Points, a single conversion option applies. Members can exchange 4,500 Mesra Points for 500 Enrich Points, equivalent to nine Mesra Points for every Enrich Point earned.
The conversion rates generally favour keeping points in Enrich if your goal is to redeem flights. On the other hand, converting to Mesra Points may be more beneficial for everyday spending such as fuel and retail purchases at PETRONAS stations.
Once your Mesra card is linked, you can submit a conversion request through the Enrich Online Portal. Processing typically takes up to 24 hours. After the request is completed, you will receive a confirmation email detailing the number of points deducted and credited.
Converted Mesra Points will appear in your Setel app or on the Setel website under the Mesra Points History section of your profile. Converted Enrich Points will show up in your Enrich account dashboard.
Converted points are valid for three years from the date they are credited. It is important to track these dates, as expired points cannot be reinstated.
All conversions are final and cannot be reversed or refunded. The only exception is if a verified technical error occurs during the transaction, which must be reported within the specified timeframe.
Technical discrepancies or unauthorised activity must be reported promptly. Enrich members must contact the Enrich service team within three days of the conversion date, while PETRONAS Mesra Rewards members have up to fourteen days to file a report.
Reports submitted after these periods will not be entertained, and the conversion will be treated as completed.
For assistance, members may contact Enrich by email or call 1 300 88 3000 within Malaysia, or +603 7843 3000 from abroad. Those with PETRONAS Mesra Rewards enquiries can call 1 300 22 8888 or through its email for support.
Members are responsible for maintaining the security of their accounts. Both Enrich and PETRONAS Mesra Rewards reserve the right to suspend accounts if suspicious or fraudulent activity is detected.
Do not share your login credentials, and report any suspected unauthorised access immediately. The organisers also retain the right to deduct or cancel points if fraud, abuse, or errors are found.
Converting Enrich Points to Mesra Points is most practical if you have accumulated miles you do not plan to use for flights in the near term. Mesra Points are well suited for fuel purchases and everyday spending at PETRONAS stations and Kedai Mesra outlets.
Conversely, converting Mesra Points to Enrich Points can help when you are close to reaching a flight redemption threshold. However, given the higher exchange ratio, a substantial number of Mesra Points is needed to make the conversion worthwhile.
Enrich Points generally provide higher value for long-haul flights and premium cabin redemptions, while Mesra Points are better suited for regular daily spending such as fuel and in-store purchases. You can also compare the best credit cards in Malaysia for travel and petrol rewards to find options that help you earn both Enrich and Mesra Points faster.
Members who are short on points in either programme can increase their balances before converting. Enrich members may purchase additional points through the Buy Points feature on the Enrich Online Portal, subject to separate terms and conditions.
Mesra members can earn up to three times more points through promotions available in the Setel app or by shopping at Kedai Mesra. These offers vary periodically, so it is best to check for the latest promotions before making large purchases.
The Enrich–Mesra exchange programme offers more flexibility for Malaysian consumers who use both loyalty schemes. However, conversion rates differ significantly, and members should assess their goals before proceeding.
Keep Enrich Points if you value air travel rewards, and convert to Mesra Points if you prefer everyday benefits such as fuel discounts or in-store purchases. Converting strategically ensures you get the best value from both loyalty programmes.
