JPJ And PDRM Extend Deadline For 100-Day Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia Summons Discounts

Motorists will now have more time to tap into the 100-Day Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia summons discount offer provided by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM). This is following announcements from both parties to extend the promo to 15 December and 31 December 2021, respectively.

With this, those who have outstanding JPJ summons will have until this coming Wednesday to make their payments via JPJ state headquarters, satellite and Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) branches, as well as the MySikap portal. Meanwhile, motorists looking to settle their PDRM traffic summons will have approximately another three weeks to do so through approved payment channels, including Pos Malaysia, Maybank ATMs, and the MyBayar Saman portal.

According to Inspector-General of the PDRM, Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, this move was due to the public’s overwhelming response to the promo, which provided up to 80% discount on selected summonses. It was initially supposed to take place only between 9 – 12 December, with motorists being required to make payments at dedicated counters in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) during the specified dates. PDRM and JPJ were eventually forced to close down the counters on 10 December due to Covid-19 concerns when a massive crowd turned up at the venue.

Tan Sri Acryl said that he hoped the extension will allow more people to benefit from the offer without having to crowd at counters. He also stated that he was aware of the glitches that affected the PDRM summons payment app due to high online traffic. “Therefore, I will instruct the Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director (Datuk Mat Kasim Karim) to consider increasing the number of counters nationwide,” he said.

Aside from that, Tan Sri Acryl shared that almost 2.3 million traffic summonses have been settled nationwide, with a total collection of RM109 million – as of noon on 11 December 2021.
