JPJ Launches New BUDI95 Website for Malaysians With Singapore Driving Licences

The Ministry of Transport, through the Road Transport Department (JPJ), has launched a new website to facilitate BUDI95 fuel subsidy applications for Malaysians who hold Singapore-issued driving licences.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said the initiative aims to assist Malaysians working in Singapore, particularly those required to use Singapore driving licences for their jobs in the service sector such as bus drivers, support staff, and operational personnel.

New Website Now Live For Applications

The dedicated website is now live and open for applications. Eligible Malaysians may submit their details online and later check their application status through the official Budi95 portal after 14 days.

Loke said all applications will be reviewed by JPJ before being forwarded to the Ministry of Finance for final approval

Eligibility Criteria For Applicants

To qualify for the BUDI95 subsidy under this arrangement, applicants must meet three key conditions: they must be Malaysian citizens, hold a valid Singapore driving licence, and possess a valid Singapore work permit.

“The ministry acknowledges feedback from Malaysians employed in Singapore regarding the implementation of BUDI95, especially from those in essential service roles. This initiative is meant to ease their application process and ensure fair consideration under the national fuel subsidy programme,” Loke said.

BUDI95 Still Applies Only To Malaysian-Registered Vehicles

Loke emphasised that the BUDI95 subsidy remains strictly limited to vehicles registered in Malaysia. Malaysians working in Singapore who meet the eligibility requirements can still benefit from the subsidy if they own a vehicle registered locally.

He added that Malaysians who have stopped working in Singapore may reapply for a Malaysian driving licence once they cancel their Singapore-issued licence, in accordance with existing procedures.

Supporting Cross-Border Workers

The launch of this website marks an important step in extending the BUDI95 subsidy process to Malaysians who live or work across the border. By providing a clear and accessible digital channel, the ministry aims to streamline applications and make the process more transparent for eligible applicants.
