Last Chance To Save 50% On JPJ Summonses
Author Avatar

Vehicle owners in Malaysia still have time to enjoy a 50% discount on outstanding Road Transport Department, or JPJ, summonses. The offer is available for a limited period before all fines return to their original amounts.

The discount applies nationwide and is intended to encourage motorists to clear unpaid summonses.

Nearly RM1.4 Billion In Summonses Still Unpaid

JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said close to 4.9 million summonses remain unsettled, with a total value of almost RM1.4 billion.

As of 16 December, around 520,000 summonses had been paid since the discount period began. These payments generated approximately RM70 million in revenue for the department.

Discount Period Ends On 30 December

The 50% discount, which began on 1 November, will end on 30 December. From 31 December onwards, all outstanding JPJ summonses will be charged at their full original amounts.

Datuk Aedy Fadly advised motorists not to wait until the final days, as congestion at counters and online platforms may affect processing times.

No More Discounts From January 2026

JPJ has confirmed that from 1 January 2026, no further discounts will be offered for outstanding summonses, regardless of how long they have remained unpaid.

Motorists are encouraged to resolve their summonses during the current discount period to avoid higher costs later.

How To Check And Pay JPJ Summonses

Vehicle owners can check and settle their summonses through the MyJPJ mobile application, the JPJ online portal, or at JPJ counters nationwide.

Payments made through official channels will be accurately recorded in the JPJ system.

Why Settling Summonses Matters

JPJ has reminded the public that unresolved summonses may affect future dealings with the department. This includes transactions related to vehicle ownership, road tax, and driving licence services.

Early settlement can help motorists avoid administrative delays and additional expenses.
