JPJ Offers 50% Discount On Outstanding Summonses Until 30 Dec
Author Avatar

Motorists have two months, from 1 November to 30 December 2025, to settle outstanding Road Transport Department (JPJ) summonses at a 50% discount. The temporary offer is aimed at encouraging vehicle owners to clear their dues before the end of the year.

Discount Applies To Most Summonses

JPJ director-general, Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli, said the discount covers all types of summonses except those that are not eligible for compounding. This includes summonses that must be referred to court.

Summonses issued under the Automated Awareness Safety System (AwAS), Investigation Notices (Section 114), and Stamped Summons or JPJ(P)23 Notices (Section 115) are also excluded. These categories have been ineligible for discounts since early 2024.

Payment Channels Available Online And At Counters

Aedy Fadly advised members of the public to take advantage of the offer and settle their summonses within the two-month period. Payments can be made at JPJ counters nationwide or through the department’s official online and payment channels.

He also confirmed that no further discounts will be offered for JPJ or police summonses after 1 January 2026.

JPJ Steps Up Enforcement On Overloaded Vehicles

Separately, JPJ is conducting Op Perang Lebih Muatan from 14 October to 31 December 2025. The nationwide operation targets commercial vehicles that exceed permitted load limits, as part of efforts to enhance road safety and protect public infrastructure.

As of late October, more than 27,300 commercial vehicles have been inspected. Of these, 1,017 were found to be carrying excessive loads. A total of 1,696 drivers and vehicle owners were issued summonses under the Road Transport Act 1987, the Land Public Transport Act 2010 (APAD), and the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board Act 1987.

In addition, 96 lorries have been impounded during the operation.

Focus On High-Risk Areas

Aedy Fadly explained that enforcement teams are focusing on vehicles transporting materials such as stones, gravel, iron, and other heavy items. Many of these vehicles operate in areas with high traffic from quarries and steel factories, which have been identified as enforcement hotspots.

The ongoing operations and discount programme form part of JPJ’s continued efforts to strengthen compliance and improve safety on Malaysia’s roads.
