Malaysia Airlines MATTA Sale Opens With Early Access Deals
Author Avatar

Planning a trip soon may be worth doing a little earlier this time, as Malaysia Airlines’ MATTA Fair sale opens with a two-day priority window that gives some travellers first access to discounted fares and extra rewards before the public sale begins.

The campaign runs from March 31 to April 13, 2026, but the first two days are reserved for Enrich members. For people who already collect Enrich points or hold eligible cards, the draw is not only the base fare discount, but how several offers can stack on the same booking when the timing and payment method line up.

The First Two Days Could Shape What Fares You See

Enrich members get access from March 31 to April 1, before the sale opens to the public from April 2 onwards.

The earlier window tends to surface lower fare options, especially on routes and travel dates that usually fill quickly. Someone searching during the priority period may see prices that are no longer available once the sale moves into its public phase.

Bookings made during the campaign can be used for travel up to March 31, 2027, giving more room to plan ahead for school holidays, longer breaks, or trips later in the year.

The Final Price Depends On How You Book

Malaysia Airlines is offering up to 30% off selected flights during the sale, but the final price can change depending on whether the booking is tied to Enrich membership or an eligible payment card.

Enrich members get an additional 5% off when they log in before booking, while payments made with eligible Visa cards issued in Malaysia can unlock another 5% discount on qualifying fares. For some bookings, this brings total savings higher than the headline discount, although not every route or fare class will qualify for the full combination.

Two people looking at the same flight may not see the same final price if one logs in and uses an eligible card while the other does not.

Some Travellers Also Earn More From The Same Booking

The sale is not only about paying less upfront. For travellers who already use Enrich regularly, the points earned from the same booking can also shift the overall value.

AmBank Enrich Visa credit cardholders can receive higher bonus Enrich points during the promotion, while EnrichMoney cardholders are also included in the campaign’s reward structure. For frequent travellers, this can shorten the time needed to collect enough points for future flights or upgrades.

Headline Fares Depend On Availability

The published lead-in fares start from RM199 for domestic economy return flights and RM409 for international economy return flights, while business class starts from RM659 domestically and RM1,609 internationally.

These prices serve as a starting point rather than a guarantee. Promotional fares are tied to specific booking classes and depend on seat availability, so the lowest prices tend to disappear first as bookings pick up.

For travellers, the difference often comes down to what is still available at the time of booking, rather than what is advertised at the start of the campaign.

Extras Can Change The Total Cost Of A Trip

The discount does not stop at the ticket price. Malaysia Airlines is also offering 30% off extra baggage and 20% off seat selection during the same campaign period, which can change the total cost once add-ons are included.

This becomes more noticeable for travellers who are not flying light, are travelling in groups, or want to secure seats together in advance. A fare that looks only slightly cheaper at first can feel more worthwhile once these extras are factored in.

Business Class Buyers Can Also Qualify For A Meet-And-Greet

Travellers who buy international business class tickets between March 31 and April 5, 2026 may qualify for a private meet-and-greet session with Manchester United Legends.

To take part, customers need to show valid proof of purchase at the Malaysia Airlines booth at MITEC during the MATTA Fair, with sessions held daily from 3pm to 4pm between April 3 and April 5.

Earlier Bookings Usually Mean More Fare Options

Booking earlier in the sale changes what is available to choose from, as flights on popular routes or peak travel dates tend to lose their lowest fare tiers first, which means the same flight may still appear later but at a higher price. In some cases, certain flight times or fare classes may no longer show up at all once those seats are taken.

For travellers who already have fixed dates or specific routes in mind, booking earlier often means seeing more options at lower price levels, rather than having to adjust plans around what is left later on.
