A total of 3,210 food and beverage premises across the country had registered as Menu RAHMAH operators as of July 2026, up from 3,182 registrations in 2025, according to Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh. Menu RAHMAH is the RM5 set meal programme that has been working since January 2023.
Running alongside it is the MADANI RAHMAH Sales Programme (PJRM), which covers groceries rather than cooked meals. As of July 2026, PJRM had been carried out 19,322 times, above this year’s target of 17,500, with 25,486,997 transactions recorded nationwide.
Menu RAHMAH premises serve a set meal at RM5. The largest group of operators is food stall and food court owners, with 1,016 registrations. Restaurants, hawkers, food trucks, and bazaar traders make up the rest of the 3,210 premises, so there are plenty of places to look out for the Menu RAHMAH sign when eating out.
PJRM consists of a series of sales events, offering savings of between 10% and 30% compared with local market prices on chicken, fish, eggs, cooking oil, flour, rice, vegetables, fruits, and other household goods. The sales have been held across 600 state constituencies and 40 zones in the Federal Territories, with priority given to rural areas and places with poor access to low-price sales rather than to towns and commercial centres.
KPDN runs an official Menu RAHMAH portal, which lists participating premises. The ministry also promotes the programme through its ‘Jom Cari Menu RAHMAH’ campaign, which puts Menu RAHMAH signage on shopfronts. Rest and Service Areas (R&R) along the highways have also been targeted for Menu RAHMAH sign-ups, so keep an eye out for the RM5 meal option when stopping for food on a long drive.
PJRM dates are listed on a separate PJRM schedule portal, where you can filter by state to find sales near you. Your local KPDN office and state assembly representative also announce upcoming dates. The schedule changes from week to week, so check the portal before making a trip.
At RM5 a meal, opting for a Menu RAHMAH lunch five working days a week comes to RM25. That’s a pretty different bill from buying lunch at regular prices. You could be saving up to RM15 per meal by walking to your nearest Menu RAHMAH outlet, instead of paying extra for delivery fees and platform charges.
The same idea applies to groceries. A RM150 grocery bill could mean roughly RM15 to RM45 in savings at a PJRM sale, based on the 10% to 30% discount range. Of course, you’ll only get those savings if the sale is held near you and the items you need are available, so check the dates and participating products before making a trip.
