The Road Transport Department (JPJ) will no longer issue printed road tax slips for private vehicles owned by Malaysian citizens from 1 February 2026. Motorists who prefer a physical copy will need to renew their road tax before the deadline to obtain one.
Pos Malaysia confirmed that all services related to printing road tax slips at its kiosks and post offices will be discontinued from 1 February 2026. Motorists can still request physical road tax at Pos Malaysia branches nationwide until 31 January 2026.
After the deadline, printed road tax will no longer be available through any JPJ service channels, including MyEG and PUSPAKOM.
JPJ introduced digital road tax in February 2023 as part of its efforts to phase out traditional stickers and paper slips. Road tax details can now be viewed and presented through the MyJPJ app on smartphones.
Enforcement officers from JPJ and the Royal Malaysian Police accept the digital version displayed on the app. Motorists do not need to display physical road tax on their windscreens.
Digital road tax remains accessible to all eligible motorists at no additional cost and can be renewed through the MyJPJ app, mySIKAP portal, or other authorised channels.
