RHB Bank is offering cash rewards to customers who open a new RHB Smart Account/-i and enrol in the Joy@Work programme between 16 April and 15 October 2026. The reward amount depends on the average monthly balance maintained over three months, with cash payouts of either RM30 or RM100.
The campaign splits into two tiers. Under Tier 1, maintaining a monthly average balance of between RM3,000 and RM9,999.99 for three consecutive months earns RM30 in cash. Under Tier 2, keeping an average balance of RM10,000 or above for the same period earns RM100.
Both tiers share the same starting requirements. You need to open an RHB Smart Account/-i, sign up as a new individual Joy@Work customer, and have your salary credited to the account, all within the same participation month.
Salary crediting is not a one-off requirement for sign-up. It needs to continue for three consecutive months from the month the account is opened.
The minimum credit amount depends on employment type. Private sector and NGO employees need to credit at least RM2,500 per month, while government employees need at least RM2,000 per month.
Each participation month runs from the 16th of one month to the 15th of the next. The account opening, Joy@Work enrolment, and first salary crediting must all fall within the same participation month to be counted.
As an example, an account opened on 20 April requires the Joy@Work sign-up and first salary credit to land between 16 April and 15 May 2026 for the participant to qualify.
Customers who already hold an RHB Smart Account or who enrolled in Joy@Work before the campaign launched on 16 April are not eligible. The Joy@Work referred to here is also the individual self-enrolment option only, not the employer-linked version connected to corporate banking facilities.
Each month has a fixed reward allocation. Tier 1 carries 400 cash rewards per month, adding up to 2,400 across the six-month campaign. Tier 2 is limited to 200 per month and 1,200 in total.
Selection is based on account opening date within the participation month, with earlier applicants taking priority over those who open later in the same window. If two eligible participants share the same opening date, the one with the higher account balance is selected first. Any rewards not awarded in a given month carry forward to the next.
RHB will notify successful participants by email or SMS within 12 weeks after each participation month ends. The cash reward is credited to the same RHB Smart Account/-i within that same timeframe, provided the account remains active throughout.
The campaign is most straightforward for salaried employees who are already looking to open a new account or move their salary crediting to RHB. The balance thresholds are within reach for many workers, with RM3,000 representing a level that does not require keeping significantly more than a typical monthly buffer, and RM10,000 being accessible for those who consolidate savings in one place.
The three-month maintenance period means the reward reflects consistent banking behaviour rather than a one-time action. For someone whose salary naturally lands above the threshold and whose spending does not regularly draw the account below RM3,000, the conditions fit without any significant adjustment.
The capped nature of the rewards and the first-come, first-served structure also mean that earlier applicants in each participation month have a higher chance of qualifying than those who sign up closer to the 15th deadline. The six-month campaign window gives plenty of time to open an account, but within any given month, earlier is better.
For those on salaries above RM2,500 who have been considering consolidating their day-to-day banking, the campaign adds a modest cash benefit on top of the standard account features during the promotional period.
