United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (UOB Malaysia) has updated the cashback structure for its Platinum Business Card, effective 1 January 2026.
The revision affects the domestic spend cashback rate, while utility and foreign spend rates remain unchanged.
Under the revised terms, domestic spend (excluding e-wallet top-ups and utilities) will earn 0.25% cashback. The current rate is 0.50%.
The updated rate applies to local business purchases charged to the card, including retail transactions and general spending within Malaysia.
Utility spend, JomPay transactions, and e-wallet top-ups continue to earn 0.20% cashback. Foreign spend (excluding e-wallet top-ups and utilities) maintains the 1.20% cashback rate.
| Spend Category | Current Rate | From 1 January 2026 |
| Domestic Spend | 0.50% | 0.25% |
| Utilities Spend | 0.20% | 0.20% |
| Foreign Spend | 1.20% | 1.20% |
The revision applies only to the Platinum Business Card. UOB Malaysia’s other commercial credit cards, including the Corporate Card, Purchasing Card, World Business Mastercard, and Virtual Payment Solutions, retain their current cashback rates.
These cards continue to offer 0.25% cashback on local and overseas spend (Corporate Card, Purchasing Card, Virtual Payment Solutions). The World Business Mastercard provides 1.00% cashback on overseas spend and 0.10% on local spend.
UOB Malaysia stated that the revision is part of ongoing efforts to ensure programme sustainability while continuing to deliver value across key spend categories.
Cashback is credited automatically to cardholders’ accounts each month and reflected in the monthly statement. Certain transaction types remain excluded from cashback earnings, including cash advances, instalment plans, FPX transactions, government services, and professional services.
Customers can review the full updated terms and conditions on the UOB Malaysia website.
