Samsung Launches Its First Android Go Smartphone In Malaysia

Samsung has announced the arrival of its first Android Go smartphone in Malaysia: the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core. The entry-level smartphone is now available in the country with a retail price of RM379.

Similar to the Nokia 2.1 smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core runs on Android Oreo (Go Edition), which is designed to run smoothly on low-end smartphones with as little as 1GB of RAM. In its press statement, the use of Android Go enables the device to provide better performance and optimised data control.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core features a 5 inch qHD display (950×540), a removable 2600mAh battery, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, and runs on an Exynos 7570 Quad processor. Additionally, Samsung’s latest budget smartphone packs 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage with a microSD slot that supports up to 256GB microSD cards.

Samsung Galaxy J2 Core vs Nokia 2.1

In terms of pricing, the RM379 Galaxy J2 Core is almost the same as the Nokia 2.1. Here is a table of comparison between Samsung Galaxy J2 Core and the Nokia 2.1.
