Public Bank customers who travel overseas before the year ends can now win cash prizes. To take part, you pay with Alipay+ on the MyPB App, share a travel photo on Instagram, and email the bank your details. The contest runs from 1 October to 31 December 2026, and 30 customers will win a share of RM30,600.
Alipay+ lets you pay with your phone by scanning a QR code at shops and restaurants. It works in more than 50 countries, including Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong. The money comes straight out of your Public Bank account, and the app shows you the exchange rate before you pay. You’ll need mobile data to use it, either by roaming on your Malaysian number or with a local SIM card.
The contest is open to individual customers of Public Bank and Public Islamic Bank who are 18 or older and use the MyPB App. You also need an eligible savings or current account, such as the Public Bank Basic Savings Account or the Public Bank PLUS Savings Account. Islamic accounts such as the Commodity Murabahah Savings Account-i count too. The full list of accounts is in the contest’s terms and conditions.
If you share a joint account, only the first-named account holder can take part. Business accounts, including sole proprietorships, can’t join.
This isn’t a lucky draw. Public Bank ranks every customer who takes part by the number of entries they collect. The three customers with the most entries win RM3,000 each. The next 27 customers, from 4th to 30th place, win RM800 each.
No set number of entries guarantees a prize, because your place depends on how many entries other customers collect. Each person can only win one prize. If two customers have the same number of entries, the one who spent more ranks higher.
You get one entry for each Alipay+ payment of RM50 or more. A bigger payment doesn’t give you more entries. So a RM300 dinner paid in one go earns one entry, while three separate RM60 payments earn three. Payments below RM50 don’t earn an entry.
The payments must come from the account you give Public Bank in your email. If you pay from two accounts, the bank counts each one separately. Five entries from one account and four from another don’t add up to nine.
Winners won’t get the cash right away. Public Bank will pay it into the account they used for the contest 8 to 14 weeks after the contest ends. That means between late February and early April 2027. If the account is closed or suspended before then, you lose the prize.
Winners’ names will appear on Public Bank’s website and social media. The bank may also share your Instagram post on its own Instagram and Facebook pages.

Your entries only count once you’ve done two more things before 31 December.
Start by posting a photo from your trip on a public Instagram account. The photo must show shopping, a meal at a local restaurant or café, or an attraction in the country you’re visiting. Add the hashtag #TravelwithMyPBAlipay and tag @publicbankmy. Your Instagram username should look like your real name, and your account must stay public until the winners are announced.
Then send an email to innovate@publicbank.com.my. Include your full name and your IC or passport number. Add the account number you’re using for the contest. Finally, attach a screenshot of your Instagram post and paste the link to it.
Do note that Public Bank can disqualify you if your post shows anything rude, violent, or illegal.
If you haven’t used Alipay+ before, Public Bank’s guide to paying with Alipay+ shows each step in the MyPB App.
