Gentari has announced a partnership with Mastercard to promote electric vehicle (EV) adoption across the Asia-Pacific region. The partnership is set to enhance public access to EVs through secure digital payment solutions, marketing campaigns, and other initiatives that support carbon reduction and sustainable mobility.

The collaboration focuses on exploring advertising and promotional opportunities, as well as implementing Mastercard’s advanced payment technologies to make EV adoption more inclusive, particularly in public transportation.

Gentari Deputy CEO Shah Yang Razalli highlighted the alignment between the two companies’ visions, noting that Mastercard’s strength in innovative digital payment systems, which promote sustainable and inclusive growth, complements Gentari’s focus on leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and customer experiences.

“Through Gentari Go, we provide seamless access to clean energy solutions – from home solar to green mobility, including cross-border EV roaming. With Mastercard’s advanced payment technology and extensive reach, we’re excited to explore how we can connect more people and communities as we strive to be the most valued green mobility solutions partner in the region,” he said.

Meanwhile, Beena Pothen, Country Manager for Malaysia and Brunei at Mastercard, emphasised the critical role of electric mobility in building sustainable cities and economies, adding that leveraging innovative technologies and collaborative efforts can significantly advance EV infrastructure development.

“Simplifying the charging and payment experience is a crucial step in encouraging consumer adoption and accelerating the transition to electric vehicles,” she said.
