Diesel Pickup And Jeep Owners Can Apply For An Extra 100 Litres Of Subsidised Diesel
Author Avatar

Eligible BUDI Diesel recipients with diesel pickup trucks and jeep-type vehicles can apply for an additional 100 litres of subsidised diesel under the BUDI MADANI programme, increasing their monthly quota from 200 litres to 300 litres.

Applications are now open through the BUDI MADANI portal or at any Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) branch nationwide. There is no deadline, the government has said it deliberately set no time limit so that anyone who buys a qualifying vehicle later can still get the extra quota.

If The Vehicle Isn’t Registered Under Your Name

Another change allows registered BUDI Diesel recipients to transfer their eligibility to an immediate family member who is the actual user of the vehicle. For example, if a diesel pickup is registered under your parent’s name but you’re the one who drives it, the BUDI Diesel eligibility can be transferred to your account. Immediate family members include spouses, parents, children and siblings.

The government has also introduced a three-month exemption from the ownership transfer requirement with the Road Transport Department (JPJ), giving recipients more time to complete the ownership transfer before applying for the additional quota.

The additional allocation could help reduce monthly fuel costs for those who rely on diesel pickup trucks and jeep-type vehicles for work.
