Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) has announced the rollout of its BSN MyRinggit-i BANJIR, a personal financing facility that is aimed at assisting individuals who are affected by the recent flooding in several states across Malaysia. This is one of the initiatives provided under the government’s allocation of RM100 million to help with them cope with the impact of the flood.

Open to all flood victims, BSN MyRinggit-i BANJIR will offer a sum of up to RM5,000 at 0% interest rate, with a tenure of three and a half years. This includes a six-month moratorium on the instalment payments of the facility. Individuals who are interested can begin applying for for the facility online starting from 27 December 2021. More information regarding the application process will be shared with the public soon, before the opening date.

Aside from the BSN MyRinggit-i BANJIR facility, BSN has also drawn up a flood relief assistance programme for the victims. It offers a deferment of monthly instalment payments on various financing facilities – including personal loans, mortgages, hire purchase, and credit card payments – for individual borrowers, as well as financial aid for micro entrepreneurs. Additionally, the bank is waiving the replacement fees for debit and credit cards that were damaged or lost in the floods.

If you have any enquiries regarding the BSN MyRinggit-i BANJIR facility or BSN’s flood relief assistance programme, you can call the bank’s contact centre at 1300-88-1900 or visit its website.
