Standard Chartered Refreshes JumpStart 5% Cashback Campaign For Online Retail Purchases
Author Avatar

Standard Chartered Bank has refreshed its JumpStart cashback campaign, which allows JumpStart account holders to earn 5% cashback when they spend on online retail purchases using their JumpStart debit card-i. With this, this campaign will now run from today until 30 September 2024.

Similar to the previous version of the promo, those who wish to tap into this benefit will need to meet certain requirements first, namely to deposit a minimum of RM3,000 in fresh funds into their JumpStart savings account-i each month. Additionally, the cashback reward continues to be capped at RM50 per month, to be credited into each cardholder’s account by the end of the following month.

Note as well that qualifying transactions under this campaign refer to both local and international retail spend made via e-commerce platforms or online merchants. It excludes e-wallet reloads, petrol, and insurance/takaful transactions.

For context, this campaign was originally rolled out as part of the introduction of Standard Chartered’s JumpStart savings account-i and debit card-i back in 2022. It was initially set to end on 30 September 2023.

Aside from this 5% cashback benefit, the JumpStart debit card-i also comes with various other perks. These include a waiver on the withdrawal fee at all MEPS ATMs nationwide (also subject to the condition that you’ve made a minimum deposit of RM3,000 into your JumpStart account-i during the month) and 0% foreign exchange fee on your overseas expenses when you use your debit card-i to make purchases abroad. The savings account itself, meanwhile, offers 0.05% profit on any balance.

If you’re interested in tapping into the perks provided by the JumpStart debit card-i, you’ll need to first open a JumpStart savings account-i (no minimum deposit is required). As for fees, there is no annual fee charged for the debit card provided, but there is an early account closure fee of RM20 (within three months). There is also a paper statement fee of RM2 and overseas withdrawal fee of RM12 per withdrawal, should you require such services.

You can download the SC mobile banking app for free from Google Play and the App Store to sign up for your JumpStart savings account. Alternatively, you can do so at any Standard Chartered Saadiq bank branches.
