AmBank has enabled the benefits of its AmBank Cash Rebate Visa Platinum Card for Lotuss Stores Malaysia Sdn Bhd, including it in the bank’s list of eligible merchants under the “Grocery” category.
This update came following the rebranding of hypermarket chain Tesco Stores after its acquisition by Lotuss Stores (a subsidiary of Chareon Pokphand Group Co. Ltd) back in 2020. With this, all Tesco and Tesco Extra stores nationwide have officially changed its name to Lotuss Stores Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
The AmBank Cash Rebate Visa Platinum Card is a tiered cashback credit card that offers up to 8% cashback on groceries, pharmacy, and online spend. Cardholders will be able to earn a maximum cashback of RM45 per month.
To unlock the highest cashback rate of 8%, you are required to spend a minimum of RM1,500 per month, with a monthly cap of RM15 per category. Meanwhile, those who spend between RM500 to RM1,499.99 can get a 1% cashback rate capped at RM5 per category, whereas monthly expenditure of less than RM500 will net you a 0.1% unlimited cashback rate.
On top of these, cardholders are granted a 0.1% rebate for other expenses outside of the three key categories (groceries, pharmacy, and online spend), excluding government, charity, and petrol spend. The 0.1% rebate is also applicable to any additional spend above RM1,500.
