Public Islamic Bank Removes Travel Insurance Benefit For Platinum Credit Cards
Author Avatar

Public Islamic Bank will be removing the automatic travel insurance benefit of up to RM500,000 for its Public Islamic Bank Visa/Mastercard Platinum credit cardholders. This change will take effect from 1 June 2021.

The existing benefits of the PIB Platinum cards allow you to get complimentary automatic travel insurance of up to RM500,000 per annum when the full travel arrangements are charged to your Platinum credit card. The coverage includes claims for inconvenience due to luggage delays, luggage loss, flight delays, missed connecting flights, trip cancellations, and repatriation expenses.

Interestingly, Public Islamic Bank had just revamped the PIB Platinum credit cards not long ago at the end of March 2021, but there had been no hint that the travel insurance benefit would be removed so soon after the official relaunch. To find out more about the Public Islamic Bank Visa and Mastercard Platinum credit cards, you can refer to our in-depth review here.

For those with any queries about the removal of the travel insurance benefit, you can contact PB Card Services at 03-2176 8000 or email [email protected].
