Author Avatar

UOB Malaysia has updated the Terms and Conditions for its Commercial Credit Cards Cashback Programme, effective 5 August 2025. The new terms[PDF] explain more clearly how cashback is calculated, when it is credited, and which transactions are included or excluded.

The programme applies to all UOB Malaysia Commercial Credit Cards, including the UOB Platinum Business Card, UOB Corporate Card, UOB Purchasing Card, UOB World Business Mastercard, and UOB Virtual Payment Solutions – Virtual Payment Control.

Cashback Crediting Now Clearly Defined by Posting Date

Clause 3 explains in greater detail how cashback is credited to card accounts. For eligible cards such as the UOB Platinum Business Card and UOB World Business Mastercard, cashback earned during a statement cycle is automatically credited to the same card account.

If a transaction’s posting date falls on the same day as the statement date, the cashback will not appear in the current month’s statement but will be reflected in the following month’s statement instead.

This update helps cardmembers better track when cashback will appear and supports clearer month-end reconciliation for businesses.

Monthly Cashback Credit Reaffirmed for Virtual Payment Control

Clause 4 reaffirms that cashback for UOB Virtual Payment Solutions – Virtual Payment Control is credited monthly. Cashback will appear in the monthly statement following the crediting date.

This clarification supports consistency across different commercial card types and provides visibility for businesses managing spend through the Virtual Payment platform. The structure helps corporate cardholders monitor rewards on a regular cycle and align them with internal reporting needs.

FPX Transactions Formally Excluded from Cashback

Clause 9(b) now explicitly states that transactions made through Financial Process Exchange (FPX) are not eligible for cashback. This formal exclusion removes any ambiguity regarding FPX payments, which are typically used for direct bank transfers.

The exclusions list continues to cover categories such as cash advances, instalment plans, DuitNow QR payments, fuel, insurance premiums, and payments to government agencies.

Cardmembers are encouraged to check the full list of exclusions to understand which transactions do not qualify for cashback.

Dispute Window for Cashback Set at Six Months

Clause 10 introduces a fixed timeframe for resolving cashback-related issues. Cardmembers must report any discrepancies within six months from the relevant statement month.

This structured window supports timely reviews and reduces the risk of delayed claims being rejected. It also encourages regular checking of monthly statements to ensure that cashback is accurately reflected.

Cardmembers are encouraged to review the full Terms and Conditions to understand how these updates may affect their cashback benefits. For further clarification, they may visit the UOB Malaysia website or contact the bank’s customer service team.
