Public Bank has announced revisions to the features of its PB Visa Signature Credit Card and PB Quantum Visa Credit Card, effective from 1 February 2025. The changes, aimed at adjusting cashback rewards and transaction categories, are detailed in the bank’s latest notice to cardholders.

For PB Visa Signature Credit Card users, cashback on online and dining transactions will be reduced from 3% to 2%, with a minimum spend of RM100 per transaction and a monthly cap of RM30. Grocery transactions will no longer qualify for cashback but will instead earn VIP Points.

Similarly, PB Quantum Visa Credit Card users will also see a reduction in cashback for contactless transactions, which will drop from 2% to 1%, maintaining the minimum spend requirement of RM100 per transaction and the RM20 monthly cap.

The bank has assured customers that other card features remain unchanged and encourages them to reach out to PB Card Services at 03-2170 8000 or via email at [email protected] for further inquiries.

It’s all about bank’s profits. Its cash back is always on the down trend. Who cares about loyal customers ? I am 60+, and it’s getting difficult to get an another bank’s credit card. But I will try.

Fair point, and yeah, while it’s disappointing, these changes usually come down to rising costs or shifting strategies on the bank’s side.

Cut,cut, cut! Is PBB encouraging us to switch to another Bank’s credit card? Aren’t there better ways to offset cost to be profitable than to slash on cash back. Come on, put on your think tank PBB. There are thousand and one ways to increase card usages to match your competitors. Don’t be stingy.
