The RM88 Cashback Campaign entitles you to RM88 in cashback if you spend a minimum of RM888 in a single transaction at any eatery. There are no specified participating restaurants to be eligible for this cashback, so if you decide to host your Chinese New Year gathering at a tavern instead of a posh Chinese restaurant, you’d still be able to tap into the benefits of this campaign.

Each credit cardholder is entitled to one round of the RM88 cashback. The cashback is also offered on a first-come-first-served basis. In addition to that, it is capped at a maximum of 700 units throughout the whole campaign period, with a monthly cap of 350 units.

You can also check out other dining promotions offered by AmBank. You can use your AmBank credit card to get 15% off the Chinese New Year set menu at Shang Place and receive a complimentary Morgan air fryer with a minimum spend of RM888. Other dining promotions include deals at Blossom Dynasty Kitchen at Berjaya Times Square, Lai Ching Yen at Grand Millennium KL, and Oriental Chinese Cuisine at Pullman KL Bangsar.

Just like AmBank’s dining promotion, Citi’s 2020 CNY Dining Campaign also lets you earn RM88 cashback, but the mechanics of Citi’s campaign differ slightly. To be eligible for the cashback campaign, you have to be one of the first 2,188 Citi cardmembers to accumulate a minimum dining expenditure of RM888 during the campaign period.

Citi will tabulate the dining expenditure of each eligible person at the end of the campaign period. If you qualify for the cashback, the bank will then credit it to your highest active card account within 90 days after the end of the campaign period.

The cashback is limited to a cap of RM192,544 throughout the campaign period, and will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis.

Given that the voucher’s redemption period is between 1 March and 20 April 2020, you won’t be able to use this voucher for any Chinese New Year gatherings, but it would be a sweet deal if you’re celebrating other occasions. That said, don’t take things for granted – be sure to check if the participating outlets have set their own expiry date of the voucher!

It would also be a good idea to look through HSBC’s CNY dining deal page as they also have some other special discounts for restaurants such as Blossom Dynasty Kitchen, Dragon-i, and Canton-i.
