Setel has launched a bill payment feature, letting customers pay utility and telecommunications bills directly in the app. The feature went live on 18 May 2026, with a cashback promotion running until 18 July 2026.
Twenty-five billers are available at launch, covering utilities, water, telecommunications, and broadband. The list includes Astro, CelcomDigi, TM, Air Selangor, and Indah Water, with more billers to follow.
All Setel customers earn 10% cashback on bill payments made through the app until 18 July 2026. The cashback is capped at RM10 per month, so you’d need to pay at least RM100 in bills through the app within a month to reach it.
Hit the cap both months and you get RM20 back in total.
Setel launched in 2018 for fuel payments at PETRONAS stations and has since added parking, EV charging, motor takaful, road tax renewal, and petrol credit card applications. Bill payment is the latest feature.
If you’re already on Setel, the cashback comes on top of bills you’d be paying anyway. Your combined monthly bills for broadband, pay-TV, and water would need to reach RM100 to earn the full RM10 back.
That’s RM10 a month at most, regardless of how much you spend on bills. For customers not yet on Setel, the cashback alone probably isn’t enough to make switching worthwhile, particularly if you’re already earning cashback through a different e-wallet.
The promotion ends on 18 July 2026. After that, bill payment stays in the app but without the cashback.
