Astro Fibre

Astro has embarked on its journey to becoming an internet service provider by rolling out its own internet service, Astro Fibre. Unlike the existing Astro and Broadband packages – which are offered through Astro’s partnership with Maxis and Allo – the all-new Astro Fibre is a first-party service.

Under Astro Fibre, you’ll still be able to subscribe to packages that bundle fibre services with Astro content. There are four selections of fibre speeds that you can choose from: 50 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 500 Mbps and 800 Mbps. Meanwhile, Astro content available for your choosing includes the Primary Pack, Entertainment Pack, Sports Pack, Entertainment Plus Pack, and Premium Pack 2 (Entertainment Plus with Sports). Depending on the fibre speeds, you can choose from a selection of options available for the Astro content bundle.

As part of Astro Fibre’s launch offer, those who sign up for any Astro Fibre plans between 24 March and 30 June 2022 can enjoy rebates as well as receive a complimentary WiFi 6 Router and a Mesh WiFi. Check out the pricing below to see how much you can save when you get an Astro Fibre plan during the promotion period:

As you can see, the most affordable plan will be the Astro Fibre 50 Mbps with the Astro Primary Pack. Dubbed Pek Jimat 129, you can get a RM29 monthly rebate when you sign up for the plan during the promotion.

All of the Astro Fibre plans listed above will come with Astro GO, and Astro Fibre plans with either the Entertainment Plus Pack or the Premium Pack 2 bundled in, you will also get to enjoy TVB Anywhere and Netflix at no extra cost.

Do also note that the complimentary Mesh WiFi provided as part of the promotion is actually an add-on subscription. You will get it for free for 12 months when you subscribe to any of the 50 Mbps plans, or 24 months for any other plans. Once the free subscription period ends, you will have to pay a monthly fee of between RM10 to RM25 per unit to continue using the Mesh WiFi.

For enhanced entertainment, each Astro pack comes with either the Ulti Box that supports full HD resolution, or the Ultra Box that is designed for 4K resolution. The Primary Pack across all fibre speeds comes with the Ulti Box, while other packs come with the Ultra Box.
