Netflix Raises Subscription Prices in Malaysia, Effective Immediately
Author Avatar

Netflix has announced a price increase for its subscription plans in Malaysia. The price increase is between RM1.90 and RM7.90 per month depending on plan, and is effective immediately.

The price adjustments apply to all four plans offered by Netflix: Basic, Standard, Premium, and Mobile plans. The Basic plan now costs RM29.90 per month, up from RM28. Standard plan subscribers will see an increase from RM45/month to RM49.90/month, while the Premium plan has risen from RM55/month to RM62.90/month. The Mobile plan, previously RM17/month, is now priced at RM18.90/month.

Additionally, customers who share their Netflix Standard or Premium plans with users outside their household will be charged RM13 per extra person each month, a fee billed to the main account holder.

These price increases are expected to impact Netflix add-on packages provided by various telcos and pay TV services. Astro has also confirmed similar price adjustments. However, current Astro customers with Netflix included in their packages will not see these changes until March 1, 2025.

Unifi has confirmed that its bundle users will also experience price adjustments. TV Pack offerings will remain the same, but add-on upgrades for Netflix will see a price increase beginning 21 November.

Ultimate Max Pack customers will see the cost to upgrade the Standard Netflix plan to Premium rise from RM10 to RM13/month, while Ultimate Plus Pack upgrades will increase to RM20/month for Basic to Standard and RM33/month for Basic to Premium. Unifi home broadband users will face the same Netflix upgrade costs.
