U Mobile Introduces Fibre Broadband Services With New Plans And Introductory Promos

Telco U Mobile has officially ventured into providing fibre broadband services, following the launch of three new fixed fibre broadband plans with speeds of up to 1Gbps. Dubbed the U Mobile Ultra Unlimited Home Fibre Broadband Plans, these new packages are offered in partnership with Allo, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).

The U Mobile Ultra Unlimited Home Fibre Broadband Plans are available at three speed packages at the following price points:

All three packages feature symmetrical download and upload speeds, as well as unlimited internet quota. They are also inclusive of a modem and basic installation, but do not come with fixed telephone lines. Additionally, customers are bound by a minimum contract period of 24 months; if you terminate the plan before your contract is up, there is a termination penalty of RM500.

Currently, the U Mobile Ultra Unlimited Home Fibre Broadband Plans are available only in selected residential areas in Melaka, Cyberjaya, Perak, and Kedah as a pilot. There are, of course, plans to make the fibre broadband packages available at more locations soon.

In introducing the new plans, the chief marketing officer of U Mobile, Jasmine Lee said that this marks the telco’s foray into fibre broadband. “This move has been particularly timely as we believe many of our customers will appreciate the affordable and accessible unlimited high-speed fibre broadband plans for their learning, productivity, and work needs during this pandemic,” she said.

To celebrate the launch of the new plans, U Mobile is currently offering both a bundle and introductory promo that will provide customers with quite a bit of savings. Specifically, the bundle promo is available for existing U Mobile postpaid customers (GX68, P79, P99, and P139 plans only) – which begins today until further notice – offers a 50% discount on the monthly fees of your home fibre broadband plans for 24 months.

Meanwhile, new U Mobile customers who sign up for the fibre broadband plans before 16 December 2021 and carry out the fibre installation by 15 January 2022 will get their first month free under the 24-month contract. This introductory promo can also be enjoyed by existing postpaid customers (including the bundle promo above).
