Alliance Bank's Heritage Run Returns To Penang With A New 10 km Category
Author Avatar

Alliance Bank’s Heritage Run is back for its fourth edition on 12 July 2026, with a new 10 km race category and registration starting at RM39. If you’re planning to sign up, the launch sale window is short.

Registration Opens 24 April, With Prices Starting At RM39

The run takes place at Padang Kota Lama in George Town, Penang, and offers three race categories: a 3 km fun run, a 10 km race, and a 21 km half-marathon. Registration is open from 24 April to 30 June 2026, or until slots are sold out.

Pricing is tiered across three windows, so the earlier you register, the less you pay.

Launch Sale (24–30 April 2026)RM39RM55RM85
Early Bird (1–31 May 2026)RM55RM75RM115
Normal Price (1–30 June 2026)RM65RM85RM125

A ticketing fee applies on top of these prices. Alliance Bank cardholders get 20% off from 1 May 2026 onwards, which brings the early bird 21 km entry down to RM92 before fees.

The 10 km Category Is New This Year

The biggest change for 2026 is the introduction of a competitive 10 km category, replacing the previous 7 km distance. If you ran the 7 km last year and want to push yourself further, the jump is only 3 km. The 21 km half-marathon returns for more experienced runners.

The 3 km fun run is designed for families and casual participants. This year, it includes a “Best Dressed Family” challenge where participants are encouraged to wear traditional clothing. Along the 3 km route, there will also be live cultural performances.

Up To RM20,000 In Cash Prizes

A total prize pool of up to RM20,000 in cash is available across the race categories. The press release did not break down how the prizes are distributed, so check the registration page closer to the event for the full breakdown.

Penang Heritage As The Backdrop

The Heritage Run is held in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2026. Finisher medals are made from bamboo, and the race T-shirt designs are inspired by Penang staples like the kebaya, prawn mee, and manik shoes. Each race category has its own T-shirt design, and all race packs come in reusable canvas bags.

There’s also a #SupportLokal marketplace at the venue with local food, artisan products, and arts and crafts from small businesses. Attendees can also join in a group art painting on site.

Interested participants can register and find out more at Alliance Bank’s Heritage Run page.
