Application For RM200 eBeliaRahmah Credit To Begin On 26 June

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has announced that the eBeliaRahmah initiative is set to begin next week, starting from 26 June 2023 (8am) until 22 August 2023. This means that full-time students who are aged between 18 to 20 years old this year will be able to register for the initiative during this period to redeem the one-off RM200 eBeliaRahmah credit from approved e-wallets.

In its statement, MoF also revealed that three e-wallet service providers have been selected to participate in this initiative, namely Boost, Setel, and Touch ‘n Go (TNG) eWallet. In addition to the one-off RM200 e-credit, the three e-wallet service providers will also provide additional incentives in the form of vouchers, cashback, and rewards points during the programme – although these details have yet to be revealed as of yet.

MoF further clarified that while the registration period for eBeliaRahmah will run from 26 June to 22 August, the e-credit provided can be used all the way until 31 August; any remaining amount upon reaching the deadline will be forfeited. Additionally, it can only be used for offline purchases with merchants who accept DuitNow QR payments.

Meanwhile, the FAQ on the official eBeliaRahmah website also shared some additional info regarding the application process of the initiative. For instance, you must have completed the eKYC process through your preferred e-wallet in order to redeem your eBeliaRahmah credit, and the e-credit will be credited to your account within three working days from your registration date.

For context, the eBeliaRahmah initiative was introduced during re-tabling of Budget 2023 earlier this year, and takes its cue from similar programmes in the past, such as the eTunai Rakyat initiative back in 2020, as well as eBelia in 2021. The new programme has a budget allocation of RM400 million, and is expected to benefit approximately two million eligible youths.
