Hong Leong Bank Instant Cashback For DuitNow QR Payments
Author Avatar

Hong Leong Bank is paying instant cashback on DuitNow QR payments made through its HLB Connect app, with the reward credited to your account the moment each qualifying payment goes through. The campaign runs from 3 June to 4 August 2026 and is open to both new and existing customers of Hong Leong Bank and Hong Leong Islamic Bank.

Every Qualifying QR Payment Earns RM0.10

You earn RM0.10 in instant cashback each time you pay a local merchant by DuitNow QR through HLB Connect, as long as the transaction is at least RM10. The payment can come from your current or savings account, your Islamic account, or your Hong Leong credit card.

The cashback is capped two ways. You can earn up to RM0.60 in any single promotion week, and up to RM5.40 across the full campaign. Reaching the personal maximum means making at least six qualifying payments of RM10 or more every week, for all nine weeks.

It shows up on the transaction screen right after a successful payment and lands in your account instantly, rather than at the end of the month.

The cashback also comes from a shared pool rather than an unlimited one. Each week carries an RM8,800 allocation, awarded on a first-come basis until it’s claimed, so paying earlier in the week gives you a better chance of earning before that week’s pool is used up. Across all nine weeks, the total comes to more than RM79,000.

Open To HLB Connect Users With An Eligible Account

The campaign is open to individual customers who use HLB Connect and hold an eligible account, which means a current or savings account, an HLB Meezani Account-i, or a Hong Leong credit card.

If you’re not on HLB Connect yet, you can still take part. New users register for the app first, then make a qualifying QR payment during the campaign period. Existing users simply log in and pay as usual.

A Modest Bonus On Spending You Already Do

At RM5.40 over two months, the cashback works best as a small extra on spending you’re already doing. Earning the full amount means hitting the RM0.60 weekly cap in all nine weeks, though even partial weeks add to the total.

If QR is how you settle the bill at hawker stalls, markets, and small shops, the cashback applies to transactions you’d be making anyway, provided you pay through HLB Connect rather than your usual e-wallet or card.

Hong Leong has run similar cashback promotions before, including a near-identical QR cashback campaign late last year and a larger HLB Connect campaign earlier in 2026.
