Starting today 1 March 2020, you can begin filing your income tax returns forms for the year of assessment (YA) 2019. You can do so through e-Filing on the Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN) official website.

If you’re submitting a BE income tax return form, you can also file your tax returns using your smartphone or tablet through the Mobile Filing application, m-Filing.

The deadline for filing your income tax returns in Malaysia is 15 May 2020 via e-Filing and 30 April 2019 for manual filing (for resident individuals who do not carry on business). Meanwhile, resident individuals who carry on a business have until 15 July 2020 via e-Filing and 30 June 2020 for manual filing.

If you’re wondering what income tax reliefs you can claim for YA 2019 or are looking for a step-by-step guide to filing your income tax in 2020, make sure to check our income-tax related content for all your tax filing needs.
